### Formulas of Problems on Time and Distance - Aptitude Questions and Answers.

TIPS FOR SOLVING QUESTIONS RELATED TO SPEED, TIME AND DISTANCE:

1. $\text{Speed} = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}$

2. $\text{Time} = \dfrac{Distance}{Speed}$

3. Distance = Speed x Time

4. km/hr to m/s conversion:
$\text{1 km/h} = \dfrac{5}{18} \text{m/s}$

5. m/s to km/hr conversion:
$\text{1 m/s} = \dfrac{18}{5} \text{km/h}$

6. If the ratio of speeds of A and B is a : b, then the ratio of time taken by them to cover the same distance = b : a.

7. Suppose a man covers a certain distance at x km/hr and an equal distance at y km/hr. Then, the average speed during the whole journey is
$\dfrac{2xy}{x+y}$
